Hi, LBX’plorers! For today’s Virtual LBX’plorers Kids Club, we’ll be celebrating 4th of July. Our book pick for this week is Pie Is for Sharing, written by Stephanie Parsley Ledyard and illustrated by Jason Chin. This “sweet” story takes place during a fun 4th of July family gathering and teaches young readers the importance of sharing through stunning images and text. If you’d like to read along at home, purchase a copy of the book here

After the reading, stick around to make this week’s featured craft- an adorable USA-themed handprint sign! Check out the materials you’ll need below.

Materials Needed:

  • Red, white, and blue construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Sharpie marker
  • Pencil
  • Ruler (optional)

Until we can meet in-person again, the LBX’plorers Kids Club events will be held online.
