Hi there, LBX’plorers! Today’s Virtual Kids Club will help you “fly” towards your summer reading and craft goals. This week’s book pick is Diary of a Fly, written and illustrated by Doreen Cronin and Harry Bliss, the talented duo behind the #1 New York Times bestsellers Diary of a Worm and Diary of a Spider.
When our favorite fly friend isn’t getting along with her 327 brothers and sisters, she busies herself by making friends, going to school, and pursuing her dream of becoming a superhero. This read is fantastic for fans of adventure! If you’d like to follow along at home, purchase a copy of the book here.
After our story, make your very own colorful and “buzzworthy” fly craft that you can display at home! You’ll find the list of needed materials below.
– Toilet paper roll
– 2 googly eyes
– 2 pipe cleaners
– Colorful yarn
– Card stock (in a bright color)
– Hole punch
– Glue gun or tacky glue
Until we can meet in-person again, the LBX’plorers Kids Club will be held online. All LBX’plorers Kids Club events, along with other fun content from LBX businesses, can be found here on our blog.
