In this tenant spotlight, we’re introducing you to (one) of the men behind Blue Bowl! He’ll take you on his adventure of opening the third Blue Bowl location at LBX and his love for Blue Bowl and the amazing Blue Bowl guests.
If you aren’t familiar, Blue Bowl offers customers a quick, tasty, and healthy meal served in a to-go bowl where you have the freedom to build your personalized bowl choosing from a range of superfoods that are topped off with an assortment of all natural performance-enhancing foods. Blue Bowl is simply a must-have at LBX whether you’ve just finished a workout class, are visiting on your lunch break, or are just hungry for something delicious.

Why do you love working at LBX and/or what’s a favorite memory from your time working at the center?
LBX has been an amazing opportunity for Blue Bowl. Our location inside the Hangar is our third location, after opening stores in both Orange and Huntington Beach. LBX is our first location within the Long Beach community and we feel we’ve been welcomed with open arms. We’ve been so impressed by the kindness and openness of the community, and we have been delighted to serve all the regulars that consistently come back for their bowls!
COVID has been an enormous challenge for so many restaurants, and we just want to take this moment to thank all our customers for their continued patronage. We’ve done our best to keep our team and customers safe, and we’ve been so thankful to everyone for accommodating all the changes (especially our move to an online ordering experience)! It’s been so wonderful to see the continued support through these trying months! Thank you. Thank you.
How did you get into the food industry?
My partners and I entered the food industry through varying pathways — but we all came to the industry with a very similar mindset. We all wanted to combine high quality food, with exceptional hospitality, but in a casual setting. Our approach to do this: let’s have great bowls, but even better people. I know it sounds a little cheesy, but it’s 100% true. We hope all of our customers can feel the quality of not only the food, but the people that are serving their bowls.
Why are you passionate about what you do?
Similar to what I mentioned before, we are truly passionate about bringing great, kind, & good-hearted people together. Our goal is to serve great, high-quality bowls that are made with care, but that’s not all. Our goal is to inevitably “change the mode” of our customers’ day. If a customer can leave Blue Bowl feeling better than when they entered, we are doing something right.
What is your favorite store/restaurant at LBX besides your own?
Oooof. That’s a hard one! So many great options! I’d say Bite Me and Amorcito are our team faves. I’m getting hungry just thinking about both of them.
